The main emphasis of this book is to train the mind to increase our awareness that God resides within each of us. Awareness of this truth is a redeeming influence on the path to peace and joy. We are given the responsibility to choose between what is the truth and what is false. This process removes the blocks to love's presence, which is the key to our awakening. As we wake up from the false dream of our separation from God, we will escape the ravages of fear (hell) and transcend into the peace and joy (Heaven) that is available in every moment. Intellectual understanding of this truth does not bring peace and joy. They come through perceptual miracles that allow us to know that the Creator has been, and always will be, within all of us. Everyone's underlying yearning is to escape from fear, and as love's unifying power expands within us, we will be liberated to receive and extend the joy of Heaven to ourselves and others.
