Author Biography

Geoffrey Mehl comes from several generations of gardening enthusiasts and turned to native plants as problem solvers for difficult landscape situations as well as environmental responsibility. He organized Pennystone Gardens - which has since evolved into The Pennystone Project - in 2003 to concentrate on researching Pennsylvania native plants for both sustainable landscaping and horticultural value. Mehl is active in several environmental and horticultural organizations. This book and the companion website, www.pennystone.com, were produced to encourage gardeners to investigate and use native species in a variety of landscape designs.
