If you are a mother raising a daughter alone this book is for you. There is a need for all children to have a loving interaction from both biological parents. With that said...you must first understand that a state of being fatherless has a direct impact on a child's ability to receive and give love. It also shapes the establishment of true identity, which is imparted by the father. This subsequently could affect your daughter's ability to care and love her own child in a healthy manner as a mom. Merely giving birth to a child will not automatically make a woman maternal. As mothers, we have to be deliberate in the way we nurture, love, and guide our children. An emotional disconnection between a child and her caregivers will affect the child's overall development.

Author Biography

Dr. L. N. Huff holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration. Her area of expertise is a father-absence in families. She was raised by a single mother and she was a single mother herself. She saw similarities in her behavior growing up with the behavior her daughter displayed. As a result, she founded a non-profit organization called Daughters Need A Father (DNAF) which helps young girls from father-absent families develop self-worth and self-esteem. Dr. Huff speaks to policymakers, community leaders, and service organizations to bring awareness and provide recommendations for services for daughters raised in a father-absent family. Dr. Huff is also the author of the book, I Chose To Be Victorious.
