This compilation of short memoir writings was written for my children and grandchildren so they may understand what my life was like. A Legacy Collection: Bits and Pieces of a Life is filled with retrospective samples of my personal experiences, whether formative, slightly dramatic, a bit humorous, or merely scenic. This book is a record of what my youth was like, how my adulthood played out, and some random thoughts on religion, culture, and life's other mysteries. Also included are word portraits of close family members, friends, and mentors all of whom form a cultural continuity--my "legacy." The hope is that some of these pieces are at least interesting, if not revealing. If they bring anyone some pleasure in reading, that's good enough.
