Author Biography

Dr. Donald Laine Clucas is a native Southern Californian. A long-time educator and author of local history, he retired from the field of education following a 40 year career as a teacher, administrator, and consultant. Don's love of history, especially Californian, is evident as he has previously authored Light Over the Mountain: A History of the Rancho Cucamonga Area, Upland Trails: An Early History of Upland and San Antonio Canyon, Proud to Serve: A History of the Upland, California Police Department, Proud Past, Bright Future: A History of the Cucamonga Valley Water District, Century of Community: Upland, California - The First One Hundred Years, and Images of America: Upland. He has also authored Prayer: Encouraging One Another to Talk to God, and an historical novel entitled Francisco's Gold, as well as newspaper and magazine articles and the editing of books for other authors. His wife, Joan, is also an author and editor.
