He is the recipient of awards and fellowships from Saint Mary's College, where he completed his MFA, and the University of Nebraska, where he completed his PhD. He is the author of \u003ci\u003ePlace Where Presence Was\u003c\/i\u003e, winner of the Moon City Press Book Award, as well as two chapbooks, including \u003ci\u003eThe Territorial\u003c\/i\u003e, which won the Midwest Chapbook Award from the \u003ci\u003eLaurel Review\u003c\/i\u003e.
