It proposed a very different way to think about organizational strategy, structure and governance, including the rigorous application of system design principles. Among the benefits of doing so are guarantees of alignment, customer focus and coherent empowerment. In 1999, there were accounts of a few early adopters of "Sense-and-Respond," but no repertoire of implementation tools, techniques, and lessons learned.
