He obtained his first, second and PhD degrees from the same university between 1988 and 2003 and was head of his department from 2005 to 2006, and 2008 to 2009. His areas of specialization are Yorùbá literature and culture, particularly oral traditions and folklores. He has published scholarly articles and textbooks in the area of Yoruba studies and was the former Associate Editor of \u003ci\u003eIlọrin Journal of Linguistics, Literature and Culture\u003c\/i\u003e (IJLLC). Adéyẹmí is also a published creative writer. His most recent novel is entitled \u003ci\u003eOͅba Méͅwàá Ìgbà Méͅwàá\u003c\/i\u003e (2020, \u003ci\u003eTen Kings Ten Epochs\u003c\/i\u003e).
