Airmen require a lexicon of unique military terms to include agreed upon definitions, acronyms, and abbreviations. This lexicon enhances the clear articulation of thoughts, ideas and commands through a common operational language fundamental to the application of airpower. AFDD 1-02 is the Air Force supplement to Joint Publication 1-02, the Department of Defense Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms. This living document presents Service-unique terminology, highlighting the Airmens perspective, and will evolve as terms and definitions evolve.
