The Lesson Journals, Books 1-4, provide spaces for students to record their progress. Practice time is written in minutes per day on slots labeled M, T, W, R, F, St, Sn. The minutes can then be added for weekly or monthly awards. Another section has slots for recording the page numbers of songs reviewed, not including the current song of focus. This allows parents and teachers to monitor what is being practiced, as it is practicing learned material that makes a song perfect.
