In 1994, he published the first \u003ci\u003eHellboy\u003c\/i\u003e series through Dark Horse. There are thirteen \u003ci\u003eHellboy\u003c\/i\u003e graphic novels (with more on the way), several spin-off titles (\u003ci\u003eB.P.R.D., Lobster Johnson, Abe Sapien, \u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci\u003eSir Edward Grey: Witchfinder\u003c\/i\u003e), prose books, animated films, and two live-action films starring Ron Perlman. Along the way he worked on Francis Ford Coppola's film \u003ci\u003eBram Stoker's Dracula\u003c\/i\u003e (1992), was a production designer for Disney's \u003ci\u003eAtlantis: The Lost Empire\u003c\/i\u003e (2001), and was the visual consultant to director Guillermo del Toro on \u003ci\u003eBlade II\u003c\/i\u003e (2002), \u003ci\u003eHellboy\u003c\/i\u003e (2004), and \u003ci\u003eHellboy II: The Golden Army\u003c\/i\u003e (2008). Mike's books have earned numerous awards and are published in a great many countries.
