Marshmallows in this first collection are a metaphor for what is meant to be eaten after dinner, an indulgence; mating sugar with fire. Yet life rarely unfolds the way we expect it to and likes to turn our expectations from fire to ice. From sweet to bitter but also from bitter to sweet. What makes a great gathering is the ability to share, listen, but most of all enjoy the company. These poems are meant to feed the mind and soothe the soul.
