Over the years that I taught piano, I developed a method of teaching beginning piano students that is based on the concept of visualizing or picturing. In my book, Beginning Piano: The Way I Teach It, I teach you exactly the way I taught my students. Sitting at a piano or keyboard, a person can use my book and teach themselves the basics of piano playing, that is, the keys on the piano and the notes on the page. This book is not meant to be a substitute for a teacher. It offers an opportunity for an earnest student to give him or herself a head start by building a firm foundation, helping to assure future success in learning to play the piano. It is my hope that this book will be a blessing and an encouragement to all who use it.
