"Between Sky and Ground" is rooted in my own life experience. It portrays mental illness, incarceration, crime, and homelessness as they afflict the black community, and the ordeals the human spirit must go through in order to overcome.

It is the story of two vulnerable characters, one who succumbs to life's injustices, and the other who, through transformational struggle, heroically rises above them. It is a tale of heartbreak and courage, sickness and healing, damnation and forgiveness.

In today's world of racial hate and social division, "Between Sky and Ground" shines a light not only on the nature of our problems, but on a way through the rubble. My hope is that it opens up new paths of understanding for all of us.
