Strongly impacted by the poverty, violence, and drug use she witnessed as a child living in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood, Ebony has devoted her life to using the written word to highlight marginalized communities, give a voice to the voiceless, and capture the experiences of the disenfranchised. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eWhile in high school, Ebony served as a frequent contributor to the\u003ci\u003e Miami Herald and \u003c\/i\u003ethe\u003ci\u003e Miami Times, \u003c\/i\u003ewhere she published stories\u003ci\u003e \u003c\/i\u003ethat called out the systemic racism and inequality facing minority youth.
