She lives in southern California with her family.\u003ci\u003e Black Is a Rainbow Color\u003c\/i\u003e is her first book. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEkua Holmes\u003c\/b\u003e is a native of Roxbury, MA, a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and a recipient of the 2013 NAACP Image Award, a Brother Thomas Fellowship, and a 5-year appointment to the Boston Art Commission.
