His poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, and his stories have appeared twice in \u003ci\u003eBest Canadian Stories\u003c\/i\u003e and three times in \u003ci\u003eThe Journey Prize Anthology\u003c\/i\u003e. He has won a National Magazine Award Silver Medal in the short story category. His collection of poems, \u003ci\u003eCalm Jazz Sea\u003c\/i\u003e, was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award; and \u003ci\u003eAquarium\u003c\/i\u003e, his first collection of stories, won the Danuta Gleed Award. He has also published many essays, one of which, the photo-text collage \"Asylum Walk\", won the Edna Staebler Award.
