This is the situation Kodee a.k.a. Brute finds himself in. Abandoned at fourteen years of age on an alien space station, she has to learn how to survive on her own in a completely alien environment, with only her wits and her feline companion Caesar to rely on.

Kindred spirits, Brute and Rose form a fast friendship, but if pirates, bounty hunters or irate slavers don't ruin them, Brute's anger and Rose's trust issues just might.
