His research is primarily centered on resiliency, waterfront development, community real estate development, and how public-private partnerships bring these all together. Before entering the academy, Dr. Buckman worked in real estate development for the Trammell Crow Investment Division and had his own small firm as well as working in investment commercial brokerage. At present Dr. Buckman consults for developers and communities and does his own multi-family developments.
