Her poetry has appeared in the \u003ci\u003eHarvard Review\u003c\/i\u003e, the \u003ci\u003eMid-American Review\u003c\/i\u003e, the \u003ci\u003eIndiana Review\u003c\/i\u003e, and other journals. She received second place in \u003ci\u003eNarrative Magazine\u003c\/i\u003e's poetry contest and has won \u003ci\u003eGulf Coast Magazine\u003c\/i\u003e's Donald Barthelme Prize for Short Prose. Bertram is a graduate of the writing programs at Carnegie Mellon and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently a Gaius Charles Bolin Fellow at Williams College.
