The children of Israel spent forty years wandering in the wilderness because of disobedience. Christians today also get sidetracked, facing many roadblocks that keep them in the wilderness. The wilderness represents wasted years. As long as we disobey God, there can be no fruit. And if we cannot produce fruit, then our lives are wasted (Matthew 3:10; Luke 13:6-9). That place between the promise and the fulfillment of the promise is the wilderness. Your wilderness is the exact opposite of your promise. Israel's promise was a land flowing with milk and honey. In the wilderness, they only had enough for each day.
