This book may be used as part of a healthy living curriculum, or as part of your school safety program. It contains Bills of Rights and Responsibilities and other articles for students to debate and discuss in order to help them to understand personal and societal values. It provides an opportunity to commemorate 9/11 through a positive, permanent celebration
called "International Unity Day."

If we can build a curriculum around one topic-like apples-including arts, math, science, geography, business, health-we can build one around peace-building. If we help our students delve deeply into the multiple facets of creating peaceful environments, they will have developed critical thinking, effective communication, healthy decision-making, and healthy-living skills. We need only to tap into our well of creativity to develop our ideas around this topic.
