Author Biography

Bryan Waytula is an Oklahoma Cherokee Artist and member of the Cherokee Nation. Bryan is a 3rd generation artist who spent his youth watching his Mother & Grandmother weave their baskets. They both hold the honor of Master Craftsmen in the art of basketry, the highest award an artist can receive and strives to follow in their footsteps. Always encouraged by his parents and family to evolve his talent in the arts, Bryan now creates original and unique works that can be seen at Native competitions around the Midwest while teaching both High School and Middle School students in Tulsa, OK.
