The story follows the life of Mike Halley, a Viet-Nam vet during the sixties from the New York Police Academy through the ranks of the department and the people he meets and the cases he worked. The voice of Mike Halley is a more understanding viewpoint, while his partner JC Colby is a flippant and distrusting soul who mocks the powers that be. Halley is married with all the drama that comes with raising a family while JC is the confirmed bachelor who thinks most of the married people he meets are deceptive and make poor husbands. Halley, is the exception of course.
