Author Biography

Katherine is a photographer, writer and artist. As a graduate student she studied Renaissance art in Florence, Italy and in Guanajuato, Mexico she studied the cultures of ancient Mexico. She holds an MA in Art and an MA in psychology from the California State University system. Besides writing and photography, her art includes sculpture, pottery, print making, and mixed media. She could be described as a avid traveler and reader, perpetual student, teacher, conservationist, experimenter, collector, cook, and importantly, a grandparent, spouse, sister and friend. Her other books include: Two photographic tours are "Desert Postcards" (striking scenes of Death Valley and the Southwest) and "Mayan Traces" (images from around Cancun). Another photo book, "Conjured Images", contains her original drawings and photographs. Her children's books are "The Yellow Warbler" and "The Story Thief".
