Interspersed with Rania's memories of growing up in the Middle East, Exotica is unlike any other memoir about stripping, as it shows what the dancer's life is really like, exploring the emotional and physical toll that the life takes on the women who are part of it.

Rania Zada is a graduate of the UCLA Creative Writing Program.

Author Biography

Rania Zada was born in Cairo, Egypt and has lived in Kuwait, England, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, and southern Florida (in that order). She worked in over 22 clubs during her 4-year career as stripper. Following her retirement, Rania attended the UCLA Writer's Program in Non-Fiction, where she began writing Egyptian Exotica.
