The Blumenkranz family of Midzna, Poland is caught in the death-grip of the occupying Nazi forces. Yacov is determined with his band of renegades, to run them out of their village, but on the first night of Hanukkah this shtetl is turned upside down and a hasty escape must be made.

Author Biography

Cindy BiggsWeiss was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently resides in northern Siskiyou County. She is a music teacher and librarian at a rural-three room school. She lives with her husband on their 300 acre land preserve, Bluestone, where they offer workshops on sustainable living and no-till gardening. Mrs. BiggsWeiss wrote Escape! as an effort to make the Holocaust more real for her students.
