by Rawlene Lebaron (Author)

The life of Father John Dyer is more than the story of an itinerant preacher skiing across rugged Colorado mountains to bring the message of the Gospel to pioneers and gold miners. His is the story of America - beginning with Father Dyer's great-great-grandfather, an indentured servant who came to this country, built a life, and was killed during the French and Indian War. His grandfather moved West with his family as the frontiers of Ohio were opened. It was into this family of independent pioneers that Father Dyer was born on 16 March 1812. He settled in gold rush Colorado in 1861, fifteen years before Colorado became a state.
