Author Biography

Perumal Murugan is the star of contemporary Tamil literature. An award-winning writer, poet and scholar, he has garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success for his vast array of work. Janani Kannan is a US-based architect, translator, singer and marathon runner. She enjoys translating Tamil novels and short stories and most recently translated Rising Heat, Perumal Murugan's very first novel.
