Adrienne Trier-Bieniek, Ph.D., is Professor of Sociology at Valencia College. She is the author and editor of several books on popular culture, including The Beyoncé Effect (McFarland, 2016), and Sing Us a Song, Piano Woman: Female Fans and the Music of Tori Amos (Scarecrow, 2013).
