How much would you sacrifice in the name of loyalty? Otis Oppenheimer never once pondered this question. He should have.
Young and eager to prove himself, Otis felt the pull of something extraordinary when, in 1986, he and a select group of agents were handpicked by Ronald Reagan for a clandestine mission known as the Glass Onion initiative. The task seemed straightforward: scour the globe for a mythical glass onion, rumored to grant its possessor glimpses into the future. Reagan and Pentagon officials believed that control over such foresight would secure unparalleled global dominance in the approaching century.
The optimism of Reagan, and the fervor of the GO team, sustained them through two decades of relentless pursuit, even after Reagan's passing. Yet, as the new millennium unfolds, the once-idealistic agents find themselves trapped in a seemingly endless mission, devoid of hope or escape. Those who haven't succumbed to exhaustion or worse are embittered shadows of their former selves. Among them, Otis Oppenheimer stands out, estranged from his family and haunted by the toll of deception and subterfuge.
As the hunt nears its conclusion, the elusive glass onion seems poised to reveal its secrets. But can something so enigmatic be held captive forever? "Glass Onion," a thrilling blend of espionage and the supernatural, marks the debut novel of David Yurkovich, renowned for his graphic novels such as Less Than Heroes, Altercations, and Death by Chocolate: Redux.
