This book introduces children to the beauty of the forest and five of the engaging animals that live there. It contains simple, repetitive words to help with early reading as well as word and animal recognition. It began as an illustrated letter written to the author and illustrator's grandson, sharing with him several of the forest animals that she has the privilege of seeing on a daily basis from her home in the forest. The animals featured in this book are also personal friends and are introduced at the end of the book.
