Author Biography

At 55 years of age, D. J. "Duke" Dukesherer is a local writer and official historian of the Ballona Blog. He is a veteran domestic and international air freight executive. He is the author of Beach of the King, The Early History of Playa Del Rey, Westchester, Playa Vista, CA, and 'Round the Clump of Willows. He has a passion for antique wooden boats and vintage outboard motors, and restores them in his spare time. He lives in Westchester, CA; home of LAX. He is a member of the Westchester-Playa Del Rey Historical Society
