Author Biography
Don Currie is an NSCA Master Class competitor and certified instructor. He is an Orvis wingshooting teacher and gunfitter, a Purdey Master Gunfitter, and provides gun-fitting services for Purdey's U.S. clients, including the chairman of Purdey himself. Currie has established global fitting standards for Purdey and has worked with the Purdey team to codify and standardize the fitting process. Over his career, Currie has fitted Perazzi, Kreighoff, Purdey, Blaser, Guerini, Guya, and Beretta guns for game shooter and clay target competitors. He has worked with stockmakers at Purdey, Beretta, and Guerini. He comes to the art of gunfitting having first been a coach, clay shooter, competitor, and wingshooter. He approaches the process not to sell a new shotgun or stock but to put shooters in a gun that fits. His book Mastering Sporting Clays was awarded a 2020 Nonfiction Book Award Gold Medal by the Nonfiction Authors Association. He lives in Lake Mary, Florida.
