Evan Davidson, a Professor at the Divinity School of the University of Chicago, discovered a missing scroll from Luke's Gospel in Israel. In Florence, in a cellar of Machiavelli's house, she finds secret letters to a Vatican priest. In Rome she looks to find secret documents in the Vatican Library, and finds true love. Her love, Professor Davidson, discovers a treasure, buried for 2000 years, which could destroy a universal religion, bringing revolutions, wars and the destruction of our world as we know it.
