Part 1 of this work contains a brief history of the exploration for gold and silver during the Hispanic Period of the western United States of America and the conflicts which resulted in lost mines and treasure. Part 2 of this work contains more than 200 treasure stories and tales cataloged by state and county. These treasures are located in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington. The western United States of America contain many stories of lost gold and silver mines, lost mission treasure, hidden pirate loot, outlaw treasure, and sunken treasure ships before the United States of America came into possessions of these lands. The American West was a forbidding land of deserts, mountains, and Native American Indians who resisted the march of European civilization. The Hispanic explorers, padres, soldiers, prospectors, miners, ranchers, and farmers who ventured into the West left their mark in the Spanish names, history, and descendants they left behind.
