Yet because of the rather volatile reaction of many, the volume seeks to redress the balance in favor of a more tempered approach to a highly controversial topic.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eAuthor Biography\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eDon Garlington hails from the state of Arkansas. After\u003cbr\u003e attending Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, he\u003cbr\u003e took the degrees of M.Div. and Th.M. at Westminster\u003cbr\u003e Theological Seminary. From 1977-82, he was a lecturer\u003cbr\u003e in biblical studies at Trinity Ministerial Academy, \u003cbr\u003e Montville, New Jersey. Thereafter, he obtained the\u003cbr\u003e Ph.D. from the University of Durham, completing a\u003cbr\u003e thesis on The Obedience of Faith: A Pauline Phrase in\u003cbr\u003e Historical Context, under the supervision of James D.\u003cbr\u003e G. Dunn. From 1987-2002, he was professor of New\u003cbr\u003e Testament at Toronto Baptist Seminary. From 2004-06 he\u003cbr\u003e was adjunct professor of New Testament at Tyndale\u003cbr\u003e Seminary, Toronto.
