What an inspiration it was to read this book. Not only is the book illustrated beautifully with an eye-catching cover, but for children and adults, there are many life lessons included that are relevant to today's issues we are facing. These lessons are presented in an elegant but simple way so that anyone can understand. Editor- Kathy Dollyhigh, MEd - 2021 Blackness doesn't have a single definition. Our paths are different yet intertwined. There are similarities in this experience that make us feel breathless and fearful. But in the moments we inhale, we regain our voice. Regain our hope. Barry and Maggie like other African Americans desire to breathe. They desire to live free and unapologetically in this nation. History shows us how far we've come, yet there are still paths unseen, revealing how far we still have to go. This book by Dr. Covington speaks to many topics that younger kids may have questions or curiosity about while encouraging faith in God.
