We all experience sadness and grief and it's necessary for emotional health to deal with it. Sometimes, however, our sadness grows until it plunges us into depression; and children are no different. Madison loses her father and her grief places her into a darkness which affects every part of her day. It's Christmas, which intensifies the sadness.
