Málaga, the birthplace of artist Pablo Picasso, is a coastal city on the Costa del Sol in Andalusia in southern Spain. Picasso left in 1895, but his modernist paintings and sculptures have influenced Málaga's art schools and architecture. The city has two well-preserved Islamic citadels, remnants of the era when Spain was part of the Moorish realm.
