Porter is the post-doctoral research fellow at the Trinity College Theological School, University of Divinity. His research focuses on the intersection of biblical studies and socio-scientific approaches, and enmity in both the modern and ancient world. A university scholar of the University of Divinity, she is a member of the adjunct faculty, Trinity College Theological School. She was a leader in the struggle for women's ordination as priests and bishops in the Anglican Church of Australia.
