Mario Cuomo served as the 56th Governor of New York. Cuomo is noted for his liberal political views, particularly his unswerving opposition to the death penalty, and his support of a woman's right to choose, as well as his strong Catholic faith. These two political decisions may be considered contradictory. However, Cuomo did not feel this way. The question is why.
