Tupelo is a name for many things: a town in Mississippi where Elvis Presley was born, a tree with Native American origin, a particular type of sweet honey, schools, restaurants, etc. In the case of Tupelo, the black Norwegian forest cat, the name refers to the owner's favorite alternative country music group - Uncle Tupelo.

When I met Tupelo, he was anything but sweet like honey. He was grumpy and frumpy with a noticeably short temper. This short rhyming story is about how he, and I changed with time. It's proven that the simple acts of love and attention transform both humans and animals.

Throughout history, black cats have been surrounded by both good and bad superstitions. In some countries a black cat indicates prosperity, while in others, they're considered bad omens. However, the bad omen myth is shattered with my tale of transformation.

Enjoy.
