by Blaine MacNeil (Author)

In this story Michael Francis Patrick Murphy was down and out on his luck again. He applied for help from the county social services office but was turned down. Homeless and broke, he was given a sympathy job at the post office in the Dead Letter Office.

His job was to try and find a way to get undeliverable letters and packages to their intended recipients or return them somehow to their senders. He was told there was no way he could fail at this job. But he did. He opened up the letters to see if anything inside them might help him process them. He was not supposed to open them. As he went through them it was really surprising to him see what some people will write in a letter. No wonder they were undeliverable and put in the Dead Letter Office, the place where undeliverable mail goes.

At the end of the day he was fired for opening the letters. But he also saved the most interesting ones and published them in this book hoping to make enough money to get back on his feet again.
