by Joan Miró (Artist), Joan Punyet Miró (Introduction by), Francisco Copado (Text by (Art/Photo Books))

Mir Round Trip presents late works created by the artist (1893-1983) during his years in Mallorca. Mir settled in Mallorca in 1956 and remained there until his death in 1983. The move to Mallorca from Barcelona brought new energy to Mir 's work; he described the island as feeling "as fresh as if the world had just been created."

Published to accompany an exhibition celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Fundaci Pilar i Joan Mir a Mallorca on the site of Mir 's studio, this volume brings together a rare selection of Mir 's late works, some of which have never before been published. The 95 works included in this publication left Mir 's Mallorca studio in the 1960s and 1970s, and now at long last have made a "round trip" back to the place where they were conceived.
