The two lead detectives throughout the series work out of a small police department in the quaint, coastal town of Brookings, OR. The crimes and characters are fictitious, however the places are real.

Fans of the Oregon Coast murder mystery series have likened the flavor of writing to that of the T.V. series, Murder She Wrote. There are no explicit sex scenes nor gory dead body descriptions. There are some current and unique forensic findings.
