Two ranchers are found murdered on a ranch in a remote area in Southern Arizona. Their bodies are discovered by Jake French, a low-key cowboy who works on one of the ranches. The array of ranch owners, employees and local characters, in addition to Jake's mysterious background, complicate the job for Sheriff Wayne Rogers to solve this double murder.
