She studied Islamic Studies, Spanish philology, and German philology at the University of Münster. She is the author of \u003ci\u003eDas arabische Element in der spanischen Dichtung des 15. bis 17. She is the author of \u003ci\u003ePalestinians Born in Exile: Diaspora and the Search for a Homeland \u003c\/i\u003e(2005), \u003ci\u003eAmerican Muslim Women, Religious Authority, and Activism: More Than a Prayer \u003c\/i\u003e(2012), and \u003ci\u003ePeaceful Families: American Muslim Efforts against Domestic Violence\u003c\/i\u003e (2019). \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMouhanad Khorchide studied Islamic theology and sociology in Beirut and Vienna.
