This children's book is specifically written to address issues of diversity in a multiracial/multicultural family. Introducing small children to the concept of "differences among us" contributes to a rich family tapestry of well-being. This richness embellished by love is empowering. In this story, Olivia is a young child who comes from such a multiracial/multicultural family. In her development, she begins to observe differences among family members. Her observations lead her to conclude how very lucky she is. This is due to her family being a true amalgam of all different kinds of people. Simplistically, "some are short while some are tall. "Through a child's eyes she sees the beauty and fun in her relatives looking and being different. How fortunate she is, to come from such a diverse mix of folks. She embraces the racial and ethnic differences which have led to the creation of a happy and harmonious family. A family with whom she clearly identifies and one whom she dearly loves.
