How could a day that started out so spectacularly, turn out so bad? As my tears began to fall, I wondered, why me?
On that day, I learned that I am one of every 2 million people who have Amyloid Disease or amyloidosis. The disease occurs when abnormal proteins called amyloid build up in organs and tissues, disrupting their normal functions. It's most common in the heart, kidneys, nerves, and liver. Symptoms vary widely and include fatigue, swelling, shortness of breath, numbness, or GI issues. Diagnosis is tricky, which is why Amyloid detection can hide for years.I wrote this book to keep busy and stay positive when I discovered in my golden years that I had this rare disease. I wanted to make something positive come out of my diagnosis, so I started a website at https: //www.myworldlivingwith.net/
